Many methods are being invented to protect the wood, and one of them is the copper metal method. This method, unlike the ACQ, is friendly to the metal fasteners and its gaining popularity very fast. An alternative name to be given to this method is the micronized copper wood preservative method. A high-pressure liquid that has the copper metal mixed in it is driven into the wood. The process eliminates the need to dissolve the copper as is done in earlier copper-based preservatives. When this process is used to treat timber the timber properties are increased highly. The time the wood products treated using this method last is longer other types of treatment.
The micronized copper preservative has proven to be highly effective in protecting the wood against fungal decay and termites. It has also shown to be an improvement in corrosion resistant properties to metal fasteners. When you use this method to treat wood, then you will not need to worry for at least ten years.
